Responsible gambling

GammaLine is a research tool for adults 21 and over. If betting stops being fun, help is free and confidential.

Need to talk to someone now? Call or text the National Problem Gambling Helpline at 1-800-GAMBLER, available 24/7. In New York, call HOPEline at 1-877-8-HOPENY or text HOPENY (467369).

Keep it in perspective

  • Treat betting as entertainment with a cost, not a way to make money.
  • Set a budget and a time limit before you start, and stick to them.
  • Never chase losses or bet money you need for other things.
  • Remember that estimates, including GammaLine’s, can be wrong. No research makes a bet certain.

Warning signs

Consider reaching out if you’re betting more than you planned, hiding it from people close to you, borrowing to bet, or feeling anxious when you’re not betting.

Tools that can help

  • Sportsbooks offer deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion in their account settings.
  • Many states run self-exclusion programs that cover every licensed operator.
  • You can cancel your GammaLine subscription at any time from your account page, or from Apple Subscriptions on iPhone.
